A Heart In New York

Age: Older Teens & Adults

Lessons about traveling usually present vocabulary that describes places, so if this is the case of your class, this activity is right for you. The goal is writing about a place, so assuming they have already learned vocabulary to describe places, they brainstorm the word New York. After that, they talk for some minutes about the city. Then, they listen to the song “A HEART IN NEW YORK” and tell each other what adjectives they can use to describe it based on the lyrics. Finally, they use whatever vocabulary learned to write about a city.
